A modern firm with
old-fashioned standards.

Based at 3 Manor Row, Bradford — acting for clients across England and Wales with clear advice, honest costs and results that matter.

About Us
Our Story

Law you can understand.
Advice you can trust.

Manor Row Solicitors was founded on a simple frustration: legal advice that talks over people's heads. Too much of the profession still explains a case in language designed to be unarguable rather than understood, then leaves the client to work out what it means for them. We built a firm that does the opposite.

Today we act in personal injury, hearing loss, housing disrepair, data breach, immigration and employment for clients across England and Wales. We are based at 3 Manor Row in Bradford, but the great majority of our work is handled by phone, email and video call, and most of our clients never need to visit at all.

What that means in practice is straightforward. You get a named person who knows your matter. You get a free first conversation with no obligation, and an honest answer at the end of it — including when the honest answer is that you do not have a case worth bringing. And you get the cost explained in writing before anything starts, rather than discovered afterwards.

We are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. That is not a badge on a website; it is a set of obligations we can be held to, and protections you can rely on. There is a section further down this page explaining exactly what it gives you, because most firms never bother to.

How we work

What you can expect from us

01

Plain English, always

No jargon, no mystery. You'll understand your options, your chances and your costs before anything starts.

02

One point of contact

Your case has a named solicitor who knows it inside out — and who you can actually reach.

03

No surprises on cost

Free first consultation, clear terms where a funding arrangement applies, and fixed expectations from day one. Where No Win, No Fee applies we set out the percentage and the cap up front; where it does not apply — immigration work, for instance — we say so plainly rather than leaving you to discover it.

04

An answer within one working day

Every enquiry gets a reply, by whichever route you asked for. If a deadline is close, say so and it moves to the front rather than joining a queue — limitation periods are unforgiving and we would rather be told early.

Regulation & your protection

What SRA regulation
means for you

Manor Row Solicitors is a trading name of Manor Row Legal Ltd, authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. That regulation is your protection:

We must meet the SRA's professional standards of competence, honesty and integrity.
Your money is protected — client funds are held in a separate, audited client account.
We carry professional indemnity insurance on every matter we handle.
If something goes wrong, you have a clear complaints route — to us first, then the Legal Ombudsman.

Verify our registration on the SRA's register using number 8012196.

Your Protection

What being regulated actually gives you

Six protections that come with instructing a regulated firm — all of them checkable, and none of them available from an unregulated adviser.

Professional standards you can hold us to

We are bound by the SRA Principles and Codes of Conduct, which require honesty, integrity and independence, and require us to act in your best interests. These are enforceable — the SRA can and does discipline firms and individuals who fall short.

Your money is kept separate from ours

Client money is held in a separate client account governed by the SRA Accounts Rules and independently examined. It is not the firm's money, it cannot be used to fund the firm, and it does not form part of the firm's assets.

Compulsory insurance on every matter

We carry professional indemnity insurance that meets the SRA's minimum terms on every matter we handle. If we make a mistake that causes you loss, there is insurance behind the claim rather than only a company.

A real complaints route, free to use

Complain to us first and we must handle it under a published procedure. If you are not satisfied, you can take it to the Legal Ombudsman, which is independent and free to the client, and which can order redress.

A compensation fund of last resort

Where a client loses money because of the dishonesty of a regulated firm, the SRA Compensation Fund exists as a discretionary safety net. It applies to regulated firms only — not to unregulated advisers.

Only regulated firms can do some of this work

Several things we do are reserved legal activities that an unregulated adviser cannot lawfully carry out, including conducting litigation and exercising rights of audience. Immigration advice in particular attracts a great deal of unregulated activity, and checking regulation is worth doing whoever you instruct.

You can verify our registration on the SRA register using our number, 8012196. We would encourage you to check any firm you are thinking of instructing, including us.
