1. General
Manor Row Solicitors is a trading name of Manor Row Legal Ltd (“the Firm”), a limited company registered in England and Wales with company number 16254992. The Firm’s registered office is at 3 Manor Row, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD1 4PB.
2. Terms of website use
These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of this website at www.manorrowsolicitors.co.uk (the “Website”). References to “Manor Row Solicitors”, “Manor Row Legal”, “Manor Row Legal Ltd”, “the Firm”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean the Firm.
The legal information on the Website sets out the Terms on which you use it, and makes accessible certain other legal and regulatory information which it is best practice to place in the public domain. For clients of the Firm, it should be read alongside our client care letter and terms of business (the “Client Care Documents”) and any documents referred to in them, such as a conditional fee agreement. The Client Care Documents take precedence over any legal notice on the Website where the two differ.
The Website is owned and operated by the Firm, which for these purposes includes any subsidiary undertakings, co-branded businesses and joint ventures that may exist from time to time.
We reserve the right to make changes to any part of the Website or these Terms at our discretion. We will not notify you of amendments, so please check the Terms each time you use the Website. Specific terms may also apply to particular services provided through the Website.
We may alter, suspend or discontinue any part of the Website or the services provided through it, including your access to it. While we make every effort to keep the information on the Website correct, it may become out of date, and we give no warranty as to its fitness for purpose, continued availability, quality, accuracy or completeness. The materials on the Website do not give specific legal advice and should not be relied on as doing so. Laws and regulations may differ outside England. Using the Website does not create a contractual or solicitor–client relationship between you and the Firm. We recommend you contact the advisers named on the Website for advice about a particular matter. The Firm excludes all liability for any loss or damage to you or a third party in connection with the use of, inability to use, or results of using the Website.
You may read the contents of the Website and download and store them temporarily for your own personal or non-commercial use. Except for content made specifically available for download, such as court forms and publications, you may not permanently copy, store or redistribute the contents in any way. Downloadable content is for your personal use or circulation within your business, and not for commercial re-use. You may not link to the Website from your own site without our prior written consent.
Links to other websites are provided for convenience only. We accept no responsibility or liability for your use of or reliance on any linked website, and inclusion of a link does not imply our endorsement of it or its provider.
For further information about using materials from the Website, or if you experience a problem with it, email info@manorrowsolicitors.co.uk.
3. Copyright and intellectual property
Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the content of the Website, including the Firm’s marks, logos and brands, belong to the Firm or its licensors. All rights are reserved except as expressly granted. If you are unsure whether an item is our copyright or trade mark, please contact us for clarification.
4. Disclaimers relating to downloads
The Website may allow you to download documents that are also available directly from their original source, such as court forms.
To the extent permitted by law, the Firm excludes all liability in contract and tort (including negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise) for any costs, losses, claims, damages, expenses or proceedings — including special, incidental or consequential loss, loss of profits and wasted management time — arising directly or indirectly from use of the download facility or the content of any downloaded material, including any defect, error, omission or inaccuracy in it, or any unavailability of an associated website or service.
- Downloadable documents are created exclusively by third parties, and the Firm excludes all liability for any illegality arising from error, omission, inaccuracy or copyright in such material.
- Downloads are provided for your convenience. The Firm does not necessarily endorse the material and has no liability to you in respect of it.
- Downloading documents is not an alternative to legal advice from a qualified solicitor, and using them does not create a solicitor–client relationship.
- Any material downloaded through the Website is obtained at your own discretion and risk, and you are solely responsible for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results.
- We cannot guarantee that downloading will be error-free or uninterrupted, and are not liable for damages arising from use or loss of use, data or profits.
- While effort has been taken to ensure downloads are virus-free, no warranty is given to that effect and you are responsible for maintaining adequate virus checking software.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence, or any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
5. Financial services and insurance distribution
Marketing. Where the Website or our other promotional material refers to the provision of financial services by the Firm — such as helping clients arrange after-the-event legal expenses (ATE) insurance — those references do not indicate that the general prohibition on providing regulated financial services applies to the Firm and its regulated principals and employees. The Firm is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, nor is it exempt from authorisation under sections 38–39A of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.
Insurance distribution activity. The Firm is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. However, we are included on the register maintained by the Financial Conduct Authority so that we can carry on insurance distribution activity in the UK — broadly, advising on, selling and administering insurance contracts. This part of our business, including arrangements for complaints and redress, is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The register is at www.fca.org.uk.
